Port of Tacoma is at odds with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), after the federal agency announced a proposed $231,600 fine against the port. The fine is intended to target the port for missing financial filing deadlines, pertaining to an environmental cleanup of the 96-acre Kaiser Aluminum smelter site located along Blair Waterway. … The port planned to tear down the plant and convert the property into a shipping terminal.
