Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) and Norton Lilly International (NLI) today announced the formation of Agri Port Services, LLC (APS), a jointly owned steamship agency. Based in Destrehan, La., Agri Port Services will provide agency services to the grain industry and all dry cargo sectors, with an initial focus on Panamanian, Canadian and U.S. ports. The company expects to handle a minimum of 600 port calls during its first year in operation. ADM operates the world’s premier crop origination and transportation network, connecting crops and markets in more than 60 countries. Mobile, Ala.-based NLI is the largest independent steamship agency in North America, servicing 70 ports through 39 offices in the United States.
