On the heels of a partnership with Kia to export vehicles last year, the Port of Grays harbor now expects between 17,000 and 25,000 Chrysler vehicles to come in from Detroit. The vehicles will be headed across the Pacific to foreign distributors. The first load includes 221 vehicles loaded along side heavy machinery and other export equipment. The next load should include more than 800 vehicles and move on from there. Billy Swor, secretary of the Local 24 of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union, said workers were happy to see the increased traffic. “We want to welcome you,” he said, adding, “Keep the work coming.”
