Philippines-based ICTSI has won the concession to build a second container terminal TEC II in Manzanillo, Mexico’s largest container port. ICTSI will immediately invest $197m in the construction, which is expected to total $565m and add 2m teu to the Mexican west coast port.

Seattle-based SSA Marine operates a dedicated container terminal in Manzanillo that handled 1.4m teu in 2008. This accounted for 46%of Mexico’s total container movement and 67% of the Mexican west coast cargo.
