Port of Longview commissioners approved Tuesday the repurchase of 35 acres from Simpson Timber Co. for $3.15 million, and economic development officials say they’re in talks to bring a new industrial tenant to the site. … The company would bring family-wage jobs to the area, but an agreement has not been finalized, he said. The EDC could announce the tenant in six months, Sprague said Tuesday. The port is glad to have more land to market after leasing 38 acres to EGT Development Co. for a new $200 million grain terminal, Commissioner Darold Dietz said.
