Mexico’s ministry of transport and communications has announced a restructuring of the Punta Colonet project to better reflect the changed global economic realities, which have culminated in a steep contraction of global trade. … At least four port expansion projects have been deferred or cancelled by Mexico’s federal government as a result of the private sector failing to meet the terms of the proposals. The projects highlighted by the report include the Punta Colonet port, construction of a mineral bulk cargo terminal at Guaymas port, a multipurpose terminal concession at Mazatlán port, and the construction of a new ro-ro terminal at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas.
