Maersk Line Ltd. CEO to head Virginia Port Authority

John Reinhart, the president and CEO of Norfolk-based Maersk Line Ltd., was named the new executive director of the Virginia Port Authority on Thursday.

Reinhart was chosen from a field of 71 applicants, 10 of whom were interviewed. He announced earlier this month that he planned to retire from Maersk at the end of January. The line is a U.S.-flag unit of Danish conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Reinhart will begin his job at the Port Authority in February.
