The Port of Hueneme’s total revenues reached a record $12.2 million for fiscal year 2012, according to an annual audit delivered this week to the Oxnard Harbor Commission.
“We’re very pleased to report that we had our best revenue year in history and our fourth best cargo year in history,” Kristin Decas, Oxnard Harbor District executive director, told her board Monday.
Port officials think they’ve shaken the recessionary doldrums that began in fiscal 2007, when revenues began slipping, but warn that they must keep an eye on the budget because of upcoming capital improvement projects. For example, they must start funding $4.5 million for a land-based power system mandated by the state to reduce pollution.
